SharonBrooke is a wonderful home away from home. My grandma tells me it is the next best thing to being in her own home. I am so happy she loves it there and to see how well they take care of her.

My mom just recently passed away and she was a resident of Sharonbrooke for 4 years. I truly believe that sharonbrooke is the best place that I could have had her. She started out on the assisted living side and then unfortunetly her dementia got to the point that she was not able to feed herself. We moved her to the Brooke which is their dementia unit and it was such a relief to me that she did not have to move to a nursing home. The care that she received during her stay there was the best that she could have received. Even better than I cold have provided. The nurses and aides were very competent and always willing to spend time with me to understand when there had been changes is moms meds, care etc. They truly care about their residents and it shows.

I am terribly sorry that the other two people had an unfortunate experience but my experience was better than I cold have hoped for.

Awful place. My father only lasted 19 days in this place before passing away,I feel that the poor quality of care was to blame for this. Staff is surly and poorly trained. Please do not make the mistake of choosing Sharonbrooke.

This facility is beautifully decorated and has a lot of great activities but, the quality of the care is abysmal. I have seen medications just left next to residents in common living areas where the meds end up never taken or spilled all over the floor; they are
slow to answer the call light (I was with my mother and rang the light because she needed a pain med and waited nearly a half hour before anyone answered the call. What if she had had a true emergency???); My mother was prescribed oxygen and, although they hooked her up to the tank, it was never turned on; it is nearly impossible to reach the doctor covering the facility; my mother was ill and food had to be brought to her room for a while-her food tray was left out of her reach and her call button moved to where she wasn't able to get to it;There is no consistency in staffing-the nurses are constantly shifted from one hall to the next which is very confusing for the residents; The aides are not state tested and have no idea what they are supposed to be doing; my mother was chatised in front of me for mentioning to the nurse that she was having difficulty breathing. She was told by the nurse to "quit telling on herself." I talked to the nurse about her inappropriate behavior and she just gave me a smart answer in return. That being said, if your relative had no health problems and just doesn't want to live alone, this may be an appropriate place. If your loved one needs any assistance at all, I would not place them in this facility.

Response: My dad was admitted to this facility on 12/31/12. Based on what I have observed since, this review is 100% accurate.

Response: This review is not accurate. Sharonbrooke has been a god send for my family. They have been wonderful to my grandmother and treat us just like family
