Right before my father-in-law entered this facility for rehab, I read the bad reviews about The Woodlands. I came so close to pushing for him to go to a facility that had better reviews and recommendations from the nurses I talked to. I decided the reviews I had read online sounded so bad they must be exaggerations to some degree. I wish more than anything in the world that I had trusted my instincts when I read all the terrible reviews of The Woodlands. My father-in-law went in for rehab to regain strength to walk and function in his home. Approximately a week later he passed away. When Woodlands finally sent him back to the hospital, he went into icu and passed away within 2 days. Two nurses and a technician commented that the state he was in when he entered the emergency room indicated neglect at The Woodlands. I can't say anything good or bad about the physical therapists, but I will say the medical side of this facility should be utterly ashamed of the job they did. There's no reason this should have devolved into a complete tragedy in less than two weeks. He was released from the hospital for rehab because his health was in order to enter rehab. He was NOT on his deathbed when he went to The Woodlands for rehab. I am writing this review in hopes that people will read it and it could save someones life in the future.

Response: YES Very lazy indeed. Always on their cell phones..

This place is awful, short term stay for rehab. No rehab, no nurses to check on patient. Food is cold and delivered any where from an hour to and hour and half late, left sitting on carts to be delivered. Staff is rude, and hurried, except for managers, who are nice at intake and then never seen again. This place is horrible.

  • Cleanliness

Response: I agree that STNA training is sub par. I have worked as a Records Assistant in several Portage area and never have I noticed the STNA'S answering their Cell Phones and NOT attending to residents needs. Two Female Aids from the Trumbull County area were very rude while discussing personal business, when approached about my father, they turned their backs and continued to talk on their cell phones.......

Please do not take your loved one here!

Response: And, please, do not work here! This is horrible place to be employed. The union is pointless and does not take your side when need be. The management & most of the staff act like high school cliques. There is no such thing as teamwork. The "higher-up's" will walk around to intimidate staff and will be happy to make you feel worthless. Count on being over-worked and under-appreciated. Save yourself the headache of working here.

The Woodlands is not a nice place to work anymore. Dont believe that the residents are properly taken care of, too much drama allowed in dietary, the union does not do anything for its employees, they just take your money that you work hard for. You dont feel appreciated for the hard work you do. Nothing but liars, and theives.
