The home care part of the hospice is disorganized and doesn't listen to the needs of the patient/family. They didn't even listen to religious preferences (not to be contacted by THEIR clergy). There are other, better agencies in the area. I wish I'd have known to choose one when I had to make the split decision, but this one was affiliated with the hospital we were in. Doesn't matter--you can choose. Choose a different hospice if you want home care.

If you accept everything as is, they are good. If you want any consideration for the individual, they are not set up for that. And services seemed to be on their timetable, not ours. I think they meant to be nice, but everything was like a checklist and it was push, push, push until you gave in to what they believed, even on minor points. I felt disrespected. I also thought it inappropriate to mention fundraising to patients/patient families. Rely on other avenues--don't suggest that you be included in the obit as a donation the very night the person's loved one dies.
