My loved one was transferred to legacy in July. She has dementia which was discussed with the staff before we picked this facility. They advertise having "staff trained in dementia". However they quickly kicked our 80 year old nonviolent demntia loves one out, calling us on the phone and telling us to find her a new place. They hid our loved one upstairs when state came in because she always is yelling for help(very common for dementia patients to be scarred), they put her in her bed because " they didn't know what to do with her". We are horrified by the way this facility was so quick to take her and her money only to throw her out because of her disease that they claim to be trained in. I suggest no one with dementia go to this facility or if their disease progresses will be kicked out!

    Response: Dear Interested Visitor:
Thank you for your candid reply as we take any feedback seriously in an effort to improve in any way we can. That being said, we believe that your statement had several exaggerations and that it took certain facts out of context. We do not have an Alzheimer's specialty unit, nor do we claim to be able to care for patients that need that type of placement.
We are always upfront and honest with families in regards to the care that we are equipped to provide.
In regards to this statement, without violating the HIPPA laws, we accepted this patient after having had her assessed by our Clinical Nurse Liason. At the time of her assessment, she was appropriate to be admitted to our facility. In her case, as we sometimes see in residents with Alzheimer's / dementia, she had a substantial decline in her disease due to the change in her environment. We put forth significant effort to work with your family via several meetings/phone calls over the period of two months, during which we proposed numerous options for interventions in attempts to be able to safely and appropriately continue to provide care for this resident. It was only after we had exhausted all of those options and saw no improvements in the resident's behaviors, that we suggested alternative placement in the resident's best interest.
To the family: We are sorry that this is how you feel about your experience with us. We would be happy to discuss this further with you. As always, Legacy Place Twinsburg prides itself on being a family-owned and operated facility, and we are proud to carry on the tradition of our family caring for your family.
    Sincerely,
    Steven Daskal, Owner and Administrator

The facility may be a wonderful place to live but I have not had a chance to visit due to the inability to get someone to call back. I have contacted the facility three times over the last three weeks for a tour for my clients and no one has called me back. I have left three separate voicemail messages and have called different times of the day hoping to speak to someone in person. I am always directed to a voice mail. Because I serve many families, I prefer to visit the facility before recommending it to others. There will be no recommendation for this facility.

Overall the best of the nursing homes and assisted living places in the general area. The other nursing homes and assisted livings in the area are also good, but this one is the best deal. You have to compare apples to apples and the others were a little cheaper like someone else said above - not much, just a little cheaper - but at Legacy Place, they have a nurse right there 24/7 while the other ones only have a nurse like during the day but not at night. They also lowered their rates a couple of months ago so now they are just about the same price as the other places, even though the others dont have a nurse 24 hours per day and they do. Also, their assisted living apartments and the resident rooms in the nursing home are huge and much bigger than the other places too. I'm not a cheerleader for any place, but whats fair is fair. I would tell anyone I care about to go here.

The care at Legacy varied from day to day depending who was on duty. It changed drastically in 2010 when they required the first floor residents to move upstairs to accomodate the new nursing/rehab facility. The residents then also had to eat in a much smaller dining room and the food was brought upstairs in a cart. The price increased dramatically in the months following. I compared the price to other facilities in the Twinsburg Macedonia area and Legacy was so much higher for the same services.

Response: I meant to give each category 3 stars.

    Hello

My mother was recently admitted to Legacy Place Twinsburg after he had a bad fall at home and broke a hip. Legacy Place staff met with us before he was discharged from the hospital, and explained how everything would work. Everyone who works there gave us personalized attention and seemed to really care about my mother and her recovery. My aunt was a patient at another place not far from Legacy Place around a year ago - it was called Grand Manor or Pavillion or something like that, and it was also a beautiful building, but she had problems with them, so that's why we tried Legacy Place this time. But Legacy Place was clean, had the employees check on my mother a lot, and they really went out of their way to make sure that we were happy and that my mother would feel comfortable there. I normally don't leave comments about places I go to as a customer, but I have to say that this is really a great place, and I'd recommend it to anyone that needs Assisted Living or Nursing Home care. I think that they used to only do Assisted Living a while back, but I know that now they have a Nursing Home on the first floor and an Assisted Living part on the top floor.
