They had a good staff & good management team & the administrator fired all of them. Why when they had people who cared? Because it was cheaper to hire incompetence

The staff is incompetent and have the attitude they donot care . They seem to have no experience in that medical field. When my love one was there he was treated unkindly with no care or comfort.Something that will not be forgotten.

My loved one was sent to this facility for comfort and pain management for his terminal illness. He had not been there for 12 hours and his health declined dramatically due to not receiving any medication or attention in general. He was there for care during his last days but the staff continually told us they thought he was there for rehabilitation. The staff was incompetent. They did not know my loved one's issues and they had his medical file. From one shift to the next the staff seemed oblivious to what was going on. Totally unacceptable. We spoke with the nurse in charge and was fed a bunch of excuses. They are short staffed and you buzz for someone, they do not appear in a timely manner. We decided to move my loved one to another facility that was more attentive to his needs. We should have read the reviews prior to selecting The Avenue because looks are most definitely deceiving.

05/15/2016  -  An OurParents User Writes:

PLEASE do not take your love one to this facility. This place needs to be closed immediately. This is the most inhuman place any human can go too. They treated my brother like an animal. Placed him in a broken laid back wheelchair in the lobby near the nurse's station supposedly for his safety. He is moaning and groaning with no medical attention. The appearance of this hell hole is deceiving. The staff is incompetent. The DOA is incompetent. They do not care, it's all about the dollar bill. The staff that treated my brother bad will reap what they sold. Would you want your love one treated like an animal.

the avenue has a nice décor, that fools you, because the staff is horrible.donot take your love one there and leave them. like some of the other reviews, you push the call light and it ignored and your love one is just waiting for someone to come.the staff is absolutely horrible.

Be very careful of what you sign at Avenue Care and Rehab Center in Warrensville Hts., Oh. The administration staff only care about the patients social security checks and property! Would not recommend this unprofessional facility to anyone!

My aunt spent the holidays at the Avenue, she did very well with her nursing care and rehab and is now home. Good facility, some issues with laundry, but overall very good staff.

This place skirts the laws and regulations, scamming you out of your insurance benefit or your money if god forbid, you self pay.

Nice place for my aunt, the food is good and the staff are nice.

08/15/2012  -  An OurParents User Writes:

Overall, I would give a very poor rating to this facility. It is the worst facility that our loved one was in. Staff is very rude to visitors, residents are consistently unclean, the response time to call lights is poor. They will come in to see what is wrong, turn off the call light and not come back for an extended period of time. I have seen residents full of feces and urine for over an hour after staff turned off call light. If you are looking for a good facility, with quality care, this is certainly not the facility to put your loved one in.

the staff was great, the care was good. they got my mother walking again which i didnt think she would!

04/26/2012  -  An OurParents User Writes:

They ignored my other, forgot to give her medications and told her it was OK to go to the bathroom in her bed.

04/27/2012  -  An OurParents User Writes:

My mother was discharged home last week. The staff made mom feel welcome and at home, staff helped us out in so many ways and the rehab was terrific. They got my mom walking again on her own and I never thought it would happen after her accident.

03/27/2012  -  An OurParents User Writes:

the overall rating scale is not set low enough to properly rate this horrible place where elderly people are so neglected. the nursing staff are a bunch of idiots that seem to have no idea whats going on with the medical needs of the patients and really dont seem to care. the personal care staff are no better. you could do just as well if you left your loved home alone. dont be fooled by the lavish decor.
