07/20/2011 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: My parent was at another facility which was large and beautiful. BUT my parent did NOT get the care they deserved. Moved our parent to this facility. WOW!!! The staff is loving, compasionate, involved, and educated on Alzheimer's disease. They are involved with all residents and even join in on meal time to eat with them. I would recommend this facility to anyone is has a loved one with Alzheimer's. The memory care unit is small, but very worth every second. The care the staff gives, lets the love one live with dignity, and self worth. Well worth the visit to check it out. You will not be disappointed.

07/17/2011 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: Our dad was in the Alzheimers unit which has 12 beds so they get more one on one care. The staff is a loving, caring group of people. Meals are plentiful and nutritious. Activites were provided and it just seemed like everytime we went to see dad they were involved with the residents, always right there. I cannot say enough about the care our dad received and would recommend this facility for anyone who has a loved one with Alzheimers.

Response: I just recently discovered my Aunt Vi is thinking of moving to a assisted living facility. She's on oxgyen & doesn't do too well moving around with her oxgyen tank. I can tell her about your community only I would prefer to show her your brochures with details & prices. Would it be possible for you to send this by mail? Appreciate your help.

Thanks

Timberwood Senior Living is an assisted living facility. Assisted living facilities are an apartment-style habitat designed to focus on providing assistance with daily living activities. They provide a higher level of service for the elderly which can include preparing meals, housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, and also do regular check-in's on the residents. Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

Timberwoods first phase includes 37 units for assisted living with a total capacity for 39 residents. Assisted living residents have access to a library/study, an activity center, card and game areas, a beauty/barber shop, group dining room, private dining room, coffee center, great room, and above-ground safe room. This phase also includes nine units in a secured Alzheimers section with capacity for 12 residents. The second phase at Timberwood includes three duplex townhouses with six units for independent senior living and three rental options ranging from low service to high service. These comfortable, upscale townhouses have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious living and dining areas, full kitchens, laundries, and two-car garages for seniors who want an active lifestyle but also want freedom to choose suitable services and assistance with daily living when needed. Timberwoods location in Oklahoma City (pop. 530,000) provides endless opportunities for sightseeing, activities, entertainment and field trips. The citys many attractions include the City Arts Center, the Governors Mansion, Martin Park Nature Center, Oklahoma City Zoo, State Fair Park, State Museum of History, Stockyards City, and more. Oklahoma Citys downtown area has undergone something of a renaissance as Bricktown, an early-day warehouse district, has been transformed into the fastest growing entertainment district in the Southwest. The area includes a mile-long river-walk-style canal, AAA baseball stadium, shopping, restaurants and nightspots. Right next door is the Ford Center, a new arena that hosts the NBAs New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets as well as top concerts and minor league hockey. Another impressive downtown attraction is the seven-story glass and steel Crystal Bridge, at Myriad Gardens Botanical Conservatory. It houses tropical plants and desert vegetation, as well as a 40-foot waterfall and a skywalk with a birds-eye view of the garden where something is always in bloom. At Timberwood, we help residents enjoy life in the city as part of an overall health and wellness program that provides recreational and social activities designed to meet the needs of each resident. Support groups and our professional staff are available to assist with the many issues facing residents and health education programs promote both fun and healthy living. We are always ready to assist seniors with daily living, but, at the same time, our staff also encourages each resident to live with dignity and independence as much as possible. Timberwoods assisted living staff is available 24 hours a day to help residents manage day-to-day living. We can help with ordering medication. We can remind residents to take their medication and, should they want or need assistance, we can even administer it to them.
