I was astounded by the comment of 1/08/2014 concerning Lori. She along with every
staff member that I know are the greatest, most professional, caring, and yes loving group that I have ever been privileged to know. My husband was a patient from 5/20/2013 until the day he left this planet on 5/18/2014. He was always, as was I, treated with love and caring from all the staff at Chantele's.

The resident nurse Lori tries to push her little private cell phone business off on visitors. Very unprofessional.

  • Management

Response: I can't believe a word of this. I have never seen the nurse talk to visitors or resident family members about any such business opportunity. Very odd comment made.

Response: I find that very hard to believe about Lorie. I know her and she is one of the kindest most caring and giving people I know. She would feel terrible if she thought she offended anyone! She loves and cares for the residents like they are her own grandparents.
I had my mother in law in this facility and I thought Lorie was wonderful to say the least!

    Response: As does the Owner..

My father was a recent resident of Chantele's and that is where he died. Before I placed him there, I did quite a search to find a nice, clean, and medically-equipped (knowledgeable) staff. There is a long waiting list for most places geared for those with health and memory issues. Chantele's was able to take my father almost immediately. The facility is quite nice. The staff to residents ratio appears to be adequate. Residents have their own room and each has a window in that room. The houses all have kitchens and laundry rooms. From what I could tell on my visits, the food looked appetizing and nutritious. There are alcoves with couches for families to visit away from the general living room. We could visit any day. All of this ameliorates any qualms about the environment.
Having said all of that, I do have one concern. Towards the end, my father was on hospice. Hospice is a separate entity from Chantele's, but I assume since EACH is concerned with their shared client, they exchange information. It is my personal opinion and feeling that Chantele's staff need more training on people with Alzheimers in the latter stages. When a person is in the final stages, they cannot swallow pills. My father was in pain, said so, and when I asked them to give him something for the pain, a staff person at Chantele's tried to give him a pill. It dribbled out of my father's mouth. Not being there 24/7 with my father, I had no idea his condition had worsened to this degree. He should have been on either a morphine patch or morphine liquid. At the end, my father was not able to formulate thoughts or words properly. Their medical condition can also change, as was evidenced by his death within 2.5 days from seeing him. If comfort is the goal, and if people with Alzheimer's cannot TELL you properly they're in pain, it is better to err on the side of their ultimate comfort, especially with pain management. So although I do not have a direct criticism for the staff at Chantele's, I would hope that this type of training is included in their care of people with Alzheimer's in the future. When a person is put on Hospice Care, it has ramped up the level of medical care needed, especially when it comes to pain management. My father died, alone, without pain medication, and in his bed. Knowing that makes me ill and is the primary reason Chantele's did not rate 4 or 5 stars.

Response: 1st I am truly sorry for your loss. I have been advised by my parents that this facility is where they intend to both go as their Alzheimer's progresses, so as I investigate I'm noting that neither residents or family of residents that comment here sign ie Name themselves at the end, which I find Odd. So there is noway for someone to follow up on such claims or disagreements. It (the comments section) has the appearance of a self generated positive fill, your post caught my attention. Amzaing care, wondeful staff, and outstanding management!!! Chantele's is not an assisted living, this is a full assistance care facility with patients who have mild to severe memory care needs...Chantele goes over and beyond what normal care homes provide for their patients...I would recommend this facility to anyone who has a loved one with memory care needs.

I've worked at several care homes and a nursing home In the past, and this is by far the most loving, home like environment ive come across yet. The facility is immaculate, the food home made, and the staff made of individuals who love their job. The faculty puts the well being of the residents as their top priority. I would be quick to put my own family here, and wouldnt worry a bit.

Response: I agree 100% with this post!! Chantele's is a wonderful care home :)

Response: What do you mean by this.

My family member was not properly cared for. DO NOT recommend taking your family here.

Response: There is no way that Chantele's facility would not properly care for a patient...I don't believe this review at all!!!! Not possible!!

Response: My Mother was at Chantele's for 19 months and this hard to believe. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

The facility is nice looking from the outside but once you get to know the admenistraters they are just all about getting paid. They don't care about ther resedents or there staff. I strongly dont recomend this facility.

Response: Wow! I am quite surprised at this review! I have found the staff to be extremely helpful, friendly, and I sleep very well at night knowing my loved one is in the hands of these amazing people. The administration staff is caring, helpful and kind. I would recommend this to anyone looking for care of their loved one.

Response: I used to work for chantels. And it is true the administrators only cared about money also I've seen some of the staff be very mean and rude to the resedents.

Response: I strongly disagree! Obviously this person who is posting doesn't know the administrators very well...To say that they only care about getting paid is sounds like this person had issues with paying their rent and had to be reminded when the time came...As we all know...It does take money to run a business.

Response: I have witnessed that same thing girls sitting on the kitchen counter the food is not good one man died in his bed with nothing on but a adult diaper and a mattress on the floor in case he might suddenly roll out of bed when he could hardly breath not a sheet on the poor man not very caring if you ask me
