Honestly disappointed with this place.. Applied for two positions and was turned down because as they said "I'm a college student" and I know plenty people that only have jobs there just because they know someone who works there which is completely unfair. Someone who plans on being in Nursing and can't receive a job because of college its just outrageous.

I can honestly say I feel at ease with my mother living at Saucon Valley Manor. The staff is very good at keeping me informed on her status, and keeps me involved with the decisions being made about her care.

The administration team has been nothing but helpful with the moving process of my mother to Saucon Valley Manor. I was also very impressed with the nursing staff. They are always busy, but the care of the residents has never been compromised which I’m very thankful.

Growing up, my father was such a fitness guru, but since he has needed a wheelchair, he’s been somewhat depressed that he can’t be as active as he used to. When my family moved him to Saucon Valley Manor, his mood changed completely, as he gets to attend exercise classes every morning with other residents.

Saucon Valley Manor has been such a help during the period of my mother’s life. Not only is she receiving great care, but even her laundry is being done which is one less thing I have to worry about!

I couldn't be any happier that my mom is now residing at Saucon Valley Manor. She's eating well and whenever I call to talk to her, she's always talking about the next activity that she's getting ready to attend. The activities team does a great job at getting the residents to come out of their rooms to socialize with one another.

From what I see when I visit my mother at Saucon Valley Manor, the nursing staff works very hard to uphold what was promised to me during the admission process which was to my mother's care a top priority just like they do with the rest of the residents.

When the idea of my father going to an assisted living became a topic of discussion, I was experiencing a motley of emotions: sadness, anger, confusion, relief, and hesitance; however, after a few weeks of working with the dedicated marketing staff and passionate nursing staff, I just felt happy. I was happy that my father would get the necessary care he needed to accommodate his health conditions. I was happy that he was surrounded by other people around his age in a social environment. I was happy that we chose Saucon Valley Manor.

Very disappointed in the care of my father. The secured units are not fully staffed, room smelled of urine, had to threaten to take out my father to have a room change, and do not provide the care that correlates with the monthly payment of $3000-4000.00. This is our first time needing such care and hopefully the last. Looking for a better quality, we entrusted the facility for the care of our father and were let down.

Staff is not well trained and inexperienced in the area of alzheimer care. They do nothing to promote an active daily life for these people. Most employees are part time and lack the knowledge and empathy required to keep these people in their best shape possible.

The staff that took care of my parents were great but the place in general is a mess and the owner is very rude and money hungry as said.
her employees are great, it would of been nice if she treated them and her residents better.

Description of Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, PA

    Number of Beds : 225

Assisted living offers a warm, supportive, and nuturing atmosphere for individuals who require some help but still want to keep their self-reliance. Why choose assisted living? Studies reveal that living near peers and participating in social activities leads to a more fulfilling life. With assisted living, you'll find senior-friendly living options and a dedicated staff. Communities have additional services that include 24-hour supervision and security, emergency response systems, access to licensed nursing care, chef-prepared meals, and assistance with grooming, dressing, and bathing. Housekeeping, laundry, social programs, and local transportation are usually provided, too. This community, a comprehensive independent living community, allows you to do as you wish, when you wish, but without the burdens of home ownership that can tie you down and take up your time. Serving both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as senior apartments, retirement villages, and communities for 55 and older. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with a variety of community amenities, services, and programs tailored specifically for seniors. Your personal belongings, such as furniture and favorite mementos, can move to your new home with you. With maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping taken care of, seniors can focus on goals and passions instead of the daily demands of home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. Community services and amenities usually include fitness clubs, dining facilities, swimming pools, golf courses, hiking trails, social events, and more. Memory care gives a higher level of attention, regular memory enhancement programs, and social opportunities, all in a secure, warm setting. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a dedicated staff that is skilled in techniques unique to memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private residences with twenty-four-hour support. Three healthy meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment support mental stimulation. Grounds typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to enjoy. Behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming are provided as well. Some seniors, as they age and begin to need assistance, simply do not wish to leave the place they’ve called home for many years. Sometimes they bought their dream home upon retirement. Sometimes it is the house where they raised their children and watched their families grow up. For them, the walls and floors resonate with memories. A caring, in-home staff understands this and is dedicated to making seniors as comfortable and as satisfied as they can possibly be. These services, available 24 hours a day, every day, are paid for by the individual or through public and private funding sources, such as Medicare and/or Medicaid. Home care includes various medical and non-medical support services. Home-care services are divided into two types. The first is a skilled service provider, typically a professional nurse or licensed therapist who can manage certain medical concerns or rehabilitation needs. The second, more common, type of in-home care is supplied by an assistant who can help with daily activities, such as meal prep, transportation, and grooming, and who can offer emotional support and companionship. There are medical and non-medical professionals ready to help with a wide range of services. An assisted living community provides help when necessary with the goal of supplying the services required to stay as autonomous as possible. With independent living, you can do as you wish, when you wish, but without the burdens of home ownership that can take up your time. Memory care gives a higher level of attention, intellectual stimulation, along with comfortable, secure accommodations. In-home care is an option for seniors when they need it. Care professionals will bring their expertise and experience to your home. This choice is perfect for those who prefer to stay in their homes but who need some help with the daily activities of living. These services, available 24 hours a day, every day, are paid for by the individual or through public and private funding sources, such as Medicare and/or Medicaid. Call for more information on how you can become part of the Saucon Valley Manor community.
