Please do not place your relatives here. The care is not as advertised. They are under staffed, with high turnover. Caregivers do everything, meal cleanup, laundry, serve food etc., severely cutting into time spent with the residents. Food delivered is not as advertised. During one of my visits, the residents were given tuna sandwiches for dinner - nothing else and beverages are limited. Patients are bruised, have black eyes, and cuts all the time. When asked how these things happen or for explanation, they always say the same thing 'we are not sure, as it was an unwitnessed event.." Residents are not restricted and freely roam the various halls, but there are no cameras and no monitoring. Some residents are violent and even the heavy medication they have them on does not curtail episodes of punching and hurting other residents. Please take your family and money to a place that can provide total care, safer environment, and enough staff to actually provide what they promise.

Arden Courts is NOT safe or secure. Having unmanned units, unarmed alarms on outside doors, filthy patient's rooms, tripping hazards, etc. is not conducive to placing a loved one in Arden Courts care. Food is not as advertised. No assistance is given to residents at meal time. If they miss a meal (sleeping), too bad. They get nothing. Even supplemental nutrition provided by family is not provided. Staff excuses for extreme weight loss is that people with Dementia do not have an appetite. A Resident who lost 28+ lbs in 4 months, gained 14 lbs. in 10 days in hospital (was also dehydrated).

Do not send anyone you love or care about here. My grandfather was a resident here. One night in February he wandered outside unnoticed and fell. He crawled around in the snow for 30 minutes. We were not told the truth initially what had happened to him. Five days later he was taken to the hospital with severe frostbite on his hands and feet. My grandfather was in the hospital and a rehab facility for almost 2 months. He also had lost a significant amount of weight in the 4 months he was a resident at Arden Courts (30 lbs.), which was never properly addressed.

Please do not place your parent here. Some of the patients here are violent and belong in a psychiatric unit. The medical care is awful. The food is worse and not at all fresh and nutritious. I saw a rat running from the kitchen down the hall one evening. There are a few solid caregivers, but most of them hang out in the parking lot and do not spend time with the residents. Avoid this place.
