While I think the care my mother received in her last days was adequate, and the nursing staff in the Skilled Nursing Facility very caring, the overall rating is still poor. The SNF had no effective quarantine during a flu outbreak. Same too for a norovirus problem. Visitors were not required to mask. A group of 8 or so high school students just walked in without any protective measures for themselves or the staff. Patients are parked in front of the television for hours.
Don't be fooled by the term social workers, they are service salesmen/revenue maximizers. I had to intervene so that my mother wasn't charged for SNF coverage she had under Medicare. They tried to make her a private pay patient just hours before her transfer back to the facility from a hospital. There is an observation period that could have been used (and was after I insisted) to use her existing benefits. I know, it is a business, but I was expecting more patient advocacy and less on the getting the best return for Bethany as the sole goal. Live and learn.

My family member did not receive good care, vents were full of mold due to filters not being changed for years, therefore my beloved had upper respiratory infections all the time, staff outside smoking more then working

Response: With all three reviews receiving one star out of five stars, how can the information provided above say it's an "average" rating. It's the lowest rating possible. Also in the information provided above the reviews, it is said that the facility received one star from Medicare, neglecting to say that it is the lowest possible rating that allows the facility to stay open (one star out of five).
