Not the place to seek employment if you are an ambitious, young mother who wants stable employment and a desire to pursue a college education, Oakwood is not for you. My daughter a teen mother, her first job as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) had express an interest to earn a college degree while remaining employed at Oakwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility on Red Lion Road/Philadelphia PA. The Scheduler had first promised to work around her school schedule now, has refused to work with her school schedule stating mid-September 2013. The Oakwood Administration suggested she resign/quit her employment. How insensitive, if she cannot work the schedule provide to her, though, she was promised early this year by the Director of Nursing would work with her academic school schedule. Now, the time has approached and the Scheduler has changed her position on the matter. This negative attitude the administration has towards this employee’s desire for self-achievement, and self-development is horrible. This refusal to support higher education only makes you wonder what type of institution is this place. If you have any desire to improve your current situation, a career at the Oakwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility on Red lion Road in the North East Philadelphia area is not the place to go.
