The DeVine Inn Care Home has Meyersdale Hospital just 10 minutes away from them. Their annual State Inspections under the new management for the past 7 years were perfect or near perfect each time. DPW Inspectors are well trained to ensure resident quality of care, building cleanliness, trained staff and proper nutrition and were impressed with this home. They serve eye of round roast, sirloin tip beef, center cut pork chops, wild caught salmon and such while accepting low income residents. The Administrator and a few other excellent staff donate a lot of time to provide such good care to their residents. Their motto is "TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED" and they definitely live up to it! This is an excellent example of what all Care Homes should be like!!!

Response: I worked there for a few weeks. I can tell you that they are forwarned as to when they will be inspected, no surprise visits like nursing homes get. When the owner is told that she is to be inspected she has staff clean the building and occupants better than the house or residents usually look. When I worked there every meal had one or more food items fried in lots of garlic shortening. She had large containers of it. She would throw large balls of frozen hamburger into boiling water and make chili or spaghetti, and usually that garlic shortening made its way into the recipe. And yes she would throw fits. She would yell and scream, not caring if the residents heard. And if you really wanted to make her angry, just ask for your paycheck that was 2 to 3 days past due. She treated you like crap just for wanting paid for all your hard work. I eventually quit because she didn't pay me enough to put up with her smart @#$% behavior. The residents were sweer and I did enjoy taking care of them. Iwitnees and heard enough from the owner to see that she was only in it for the money. She would make degrading remarks about the low income state assisted residents. I heard her remark once when she got an elderly gentlemen in and found out that his children had money, that she would have charged them more if she had known who his family was. Yea right! The motto for this place is to treat people the way you want to be treated, that is a joke. The owner needs to realize that just because she slides the doors shut between her side and the residents' side heard voice carries loud and far. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Response: I agree with you about this place my poor mom passed away in there care and what they are doing to my dad is awful

This place sucks big time . They don't care about the residents there are violations that were being covered up all the time. The owner of the place has no idea what she is doing. She is abusive to staff and to the residents.

Response: Let's talk truth. Per the residents vote, there isn't any air conditioning and several often wear sweaters even when it is over 75 degrees outside. It is the resident's responsibility to purchase clothing, not the Care Home. This Care Home accepts people regardless of their income and do an amazing job as local doctors, hospitals and Area Agency on Aging can attest to. The Staff, including the lady in charge,is the Best Loving, Giving, Caring people that I have ever seen and I have personally witnessed several of them buying clothing for residents from their own paychecks. It's sad that people would slander such a good place.

this is a horrible place to take anyone! no air conditioning and freezing winters. the care givers are not trained or certified. federal law states caregivers cant have cell phones at work, they do!!!! ladies cooking food often lick the spoon, than serve to residents. the owner is a horrible lady. she will take fits often and will not pay an employee if they quit! dont take your family here if you care about them. they dont buy the residents clothes, even when theirs is all stained and ripped! horrible, horrible place!

Response: i definetly agree with this, my father was in here one day and he called saying how hot is was and they almost let him have a heat stroke, all they said was use a wet cloth... last n first day for that awful place

Response: I have worked at this facility for over 5 years and no resident was ever there for one day. This review is completely false.
