User Reviews

01/30/2013  -  An OurParents User Writes:

My experience with Carolina House as an adult child was quite disappointing. We were given a great deal to move my father in and promised the best of care for him as he is diabetic and with age, quite a fall risk. After moving in, we began to see a lack of attentiveness and not what we expected or were promised. I began talking to some of the other families who had parents there and found that many of them had some of the same feelings but financially couldn't afford to move their parents. It seems like this place was making deals to get people in the doors but not following through on their promises. with the high cost of care for elderly, it takes a toll on the family's finances and this place has got that figured out. Don't go there if you have another option.

Description of Carolina House of Bluffton in BLUFFTON, SC

Built In 2001 , Number of Beds : 70

Bloom at Bluffton provides you with the very best in assisted living, adult day care, independent living, memory care, continuing care, hospice and respite through a warm, friendly community. Assisted living, geared toward individuals who want to live with some level of independence but occassionally need a little assistance, is the fastest growing, long-term care option for seniors. Why choose an assisted living community? Research suggests that seniors who live near their peers and have a variety of social activities feel a greater sense of well-being. With assisted living, you'll enjoy senior-friendly homes and a welcoming staff. Other services you'll find include around-the-clock supervision and security, access to professional nurses, emergency call systems, help with daily living, and nutritious meals prepared by chefs. These communities typically provide housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and a calendar of social events. Independent living is designed for seniors who are self-reliant but who want to enjoy a worry-free life. Developed for both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as retirement villages, 55+ communities, and senior apartments. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with a range of community amenities, services, and programs tailored just for seniors. You’ll enjoy your own space, so you can bring your favorite belongings, such as furniture and personal items. With independent living, residents won't have to worry about maintenance, mowing, or other chores associated with home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. You’ll find many social programs and community amenities, such as gardening, bridge, bingo, fitness programs, book clubs, and planned outings. Memory care offers the highest level of support, memory enrichment programs, and increased security for your loved one. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a staff that is trained in memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private studio homes with twenty-four-hour supervision. Three nutritious meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment offer intellectual stimulation. Communities typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to access. Other important services include behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming. Continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) provide a complete care platform, from independent living to assisted living to skilled nursing care. When you need hospice services, Bloom at Bluffton provides compassionate, dedicated care. Reside at Bloom at Bluffton and enjoy an exciting new chapter of life, where residents can trade stories and forge new alliances. In this community, assisted living, adult day care, independent living, memory care, continuing care, hospice and respite services are provided. The help you'll find at assisted living communities is offered as necessary, with the goal of giving the support services required to stay as self-reliant as possible. Independent living is designed for seniors who are self-reliant but who want to enjoy a worry-free life. Memory care offers the highest level of support, memory enhancement programs, and social opportunities, all in a secure, warm setting. Continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) provide an extensive care platform, from independent living to assisted living to skilled nursing care. Call today and discover how Bloom at Bluffton is the perfect fit for seniors requiring assisted living, adult day care, independent living, memory care, continuing care, hospice and respite services.
