My dad entered the facility on 11-6-13. This was the only place other than Kindred that Erlanger would release him to, due to him having a trach. When we arrived it seemed nice, and the front entrance sells the family member due to the appearance. We get in and have to go to the first floor for respiratory patients. dad suffered a head trauma and was there for rehabilitation. The first week was a nightmare. dad was given ceroquel which is a drug for patients that suffer skitizafrinia(not spelled correctly). The dose was given to supposedly calm him down but oh no it made him delusional. it was so sad seeing dad suffer. I talked to the staff and nurses. Nothing changed. a doctor only came once a week... Blood was never drawn.... CNA's were not good at patient care. Long story short. Improper meds were given to dad that caused him to severely dehydrate, lose oxygen levels and he vasovagaled down.... nearly dying. The supervisor tried to talk my husband and I out of going to the ER by saying oh he is fine.... Yeah right... unresponsive and fine.... we get to Erlanger and his kidneys was shutting down, barely a blood pressure... lots of issues. Dad had to get blood that night and meds to sustain is blood pressure. He spent 3 nights in the ICU unit and went to the floor for 4 days and just completely done a 360.... had we not of gotten him out of Standifer he would of had died. Every patient there is the same.... take time to walk through and look at everyone there..... I feel the staff keeps them medicated and down... I know they did my dad...... When he left there he never took any of the meds they give him.... We are now recovering and doing great.... DO NOT USE THIS PLACE>>>> THE NEWS MEDIA HAS ALREADY BEEN THERE..... PLEASE DO NOT PUT A LOVED FAMILY MEMBER THERE... THEY WILL NEVER COME OUT ALIVE

our family was "warned" about this place and we went planning on getting out of there as soon as possible. we were totally surprised when we LOVED it. the handful of other patients we've talked to are happy as well. when our family member went into the hospital we couldn't get back to standifer place quick enough. we've had our loved one there maybe two months. Physical therapy is good there, nutritionists, nursing, cna's, everyone....they get a bad wrap. we go every day so we see lots.
