I was employed by Azle Manor and made the choice to resign because I could not in my heart agree with how they treated their residents and us as employees. I now am in the processes of filing a complaint with the State for what they are doing and trying to hide. I care too much for my residents to not speak up for them. I wouldn't want my grandparents nor parents living here at this facility. It is sad and they know they are doing wrong. They will do anything to fake or pretend they are doing good. I hope the best for my residents there and that there will be a stop to this asap.

My father definitely needed an advocate (family member) to oversee his care to ensure follow through with his medical needs. They allowed him to overeat late night unhealthy snacking. They didn't take the initiative to ensure his fluid retention was managed with compression stockings, medication adjustment requests to the physician without family prompting. Communication was poor when there were behavior issues and was ESPECIALLY poor when we were forced to move him to another facility with harrassment and threats passed on from the administrator through the social worker (who was trying to be helpful but had to communicate what she was told). We loved the care takers who managed his "activities of daily living" and the nurses were responsive to our requests.

We have been impressed with the care our mother is getting. She enjoys the food which she says is delicious and the beautiful courtyard. She doesn't take advantage of the activities fully, but is as her strength and energy allow. It is a beautiful facility and kept very clean.

Response: In 2009 my parent was getting seemingly good care at Azle Manor. However, over the past year the quality of services has declined, there has been a frequent large turn over of employees, the facility has not had supplies available for the patients and many other negative issues that I am currently facing with this facility.
