01/30/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: My mom loves the people who work in Bandera Rehab. They go OUT of their way to help her. Thank you very much! The lady in the office with the British accent is always very helpful.
Of course, it's not home, but they strive to make it 'home' for those who live here! Mom has been in 3 facilities and she likes this place best.

07/17/2013 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: Well the Administrator would call someone back, but she is never there, or figuring out how to steal from the company. The DON, is pyscho, and the Adon, can't stand to stand up to anyone. I have worked there for a short period, and found nothing, but bullying, degrading, and horrible working conditions from the Nursing management. To bad the Nursing management does not have to be interviewed by DADS, cause they would be unemployed.

My husband almost lost his life in there. He was not given a bath for 5 days resulting in shin breakdown that was so bad his penis was bleeding. I went a dr and she saw the condition of his breakdown and ordered him to be bathed everyday. Next strike came because they did not give him his lasix .th wa after I told them he had to have it at a plan of care meeting. He kept on putting on weight and devoloped a clot n his good leg. Nobody could figure out why he put on 37 pounds of weight in a week or so fially I asked to to see med list and lasix was not on there. I told the nurse in charge that they better get him his lasix. I called every hour on the hour till at midnight he got it. Thank God there was a medicaid rep in the meeting when I told them about the lasix. Then they said he was having kidney issues wow REALLY. Strike three he was being bathed and had a slip and it was not reported. Hi bruise went from his upper back to his lower leg.,I was the one agan to find it and have witnesses to prove this. I had the nurse come and pull his pants down and asked him what happened "did you fall" He sa id no.so I asked him what happened in shower he replied I slipped while th girl was helping another man. She was giving 2 aths at the same time WOW.The "nurse practioner" without even looking at him said "its the lovonox and sent him for ct scan. Nothing broke but He as bleeding out. I asked for someone else to look at my husband and she sent him to emergency room. By tat time he was in acute kidney failure and thought his stay had 5 units of blood. I had him moved to a different place and he is recieving proper care and will be coming home soon. 09/04/2011 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: check out what I had to say on Angies List. Adminstrator in charge does not call you back when message left about concerns regarding parent. People in charge should take care of BULLYING problems and not expect frail patients to stand up to the bullies.

    2

Response: The facility took care of all the problems so don't pay attention to what I said on Angie's List.
