My mother was recently a patient here and although the nurses I came in contact with were very nice and helpful, the administration staff was awful. I felt rushed during the entire admissions procedure, which you would think they'd make the best attempt at a good impression with. I was hesitant but gave a little longer to see if things panned out, after all maybe it was just a chaotic day. I made a request that was "over the charge nurse's head" so she transferred me to the assistant director of nursing, Jennifer. There, I sat on hold for at least 15 minutes, then was hung up on. I called back to speak to the actual director and he just passed me back to Jennifer, who was extremely rude and condescending. I pulled my mother out of this facility because the administrative department lacks professionalism and it seems none of them have any managerial skills, whosever. I'd rather have her at home with home health care members than somewhere that only cares about their money.

I have had a family member there recently. I visited the facility several times over a period of a week. Not once was I greeted, asked if I could be helped, or otherwise. None of the nursing staff had name tags on to identify themselves. I stood in the hallway for over 5 minutes and two what appeared to be nursing staff were around two med carts who talked among themselves but never addressed me at all. And they left both carts unlocked when they walked away. I am on an admin staff at another facility here in Texas as well and would be very ashamed if my staff acted or did not react in this manner. The facility smelled of urine and many of the staff members walked around the residents as if they were not there. I am very proud my family member has been moved to another facility. I hope your state survey is better than your personal survey by this family member.
