The change in management that occurred a few months ago has changed the Santa Fe House from a 4 star home to a pit.

My brother in law who lives in Plainview notified me of the following event that happened today:

xxx called me about 3:00 and asked me to come "now," which thankfully I did...immediately. I instinctively felt something was very wrong. There were two aides working, Patsy in her office and a girl in the dining area. No one else was around. As always I asked the first one I saw how xxx was doing today. She said, she's doing fine, but she had diarrhea this morning and we cleaned her up but we haven't cleaned the floor yet, it's so bad we've got to wait till tomorrow when T. J. the janitor gets here for him to clean it up. I bolted for xxx's room and found her sitting in her recliner, subdued.

There was a circle about four feet in diameter, about 8 inches in girth, of smelly feces, where she had been standing when she had the diarrhea discharge and her diaper didn't begin to hold it. Apparently it gushed out on all sides of her in a circle. I could smell it all the way down the hall. It happened this morning about nine, best I could determine. So it had been that way for at least six hours and through at least two work shifts, and they were planning to leave it that way until the janitor comes tomorrow. Patsy told me that they had cleaned it as best they could, which was a lie because when I started cleaning it, I first had to pick up pieces of feces. They hadn't done @#$%-literally! Jodi the manager lives out of town. I will detail later what I said to Patsy and the other aide. I asked for supplies to clean the floor with. They had none. I went to WM and bought a bucket, cleaner and a broom, came back and cleaned the mess up with a bottle of cleaner with a brush attached to it. Punkin was hysterical because she didn't understand what was going on. Neither of the aides came to help me, but I got it cleaned and in fair condition. After I finished, they came down the hall pushing a steam cleaner which they didn't know how to use. I told them to do the best they could with it but that I would be back in a couple of hours to see if the smell was gone. Patsy had sent the other girl to the janitor's house for the key to a closet that contained the steam cleaner.

Patsy had called Jodi and told him I was in a rage, and he wanted to talk to me; I told her to tell him I didn't have time, I was cleaning up the @#$% house he was running, but not to worry as I had made pictures before I started. Which I had.

I seriously considered bringing xxx home with me and getting a neighbor to come over and help me to take care of her till we can find a better solution but my senses took over before I did it. Before I left, her last words were, "I want out of here."

I don't think we can leave her in that place as long as Patsy and the other aide and Jodi are working there. What they did to her today was not only wrong, it was outright inhumane for one person to do something like that to another, especially one they were charged to care for and paid $4,557.00 a month (Oct bill). I told them both, but it didn't register with either.

The son of one of the residents says his mother was being left wet in the bed, as is, xxx. Allegedly, the son raised cane about it, Patsy called Diane, the "big nurse" for the company's area houses, who called Jodie and they fired their best employee who had already given notice. None of the bosses told her she was fired, they just told her friends there who told her and Jodi won't return her calls and she's been told that she's not to come into the building and that they have changed the entry code.

They have not changed the code, but I asked Patsy today what time Renee was coming to work and she reluctantly told me she had been fired.

Santa Fe House in Plainview , Texas is a beautiful facility. It is seriously under staffed and the owners are from the North East. They will move you in at one rate and then threaten to evict your loved one if you don't pay a higher rate. Please beware !! Check other reviews of Assisted Living Concepts !! This company does not have the best interest in mind for your loved one, it is all about the money !
