Our loved one has been at Lindan Park for over a year. We are so thankful we found Lindan Park! Every time we enter the building we feel the care and concern that the staff have for our grandmother! Even on her more difficult days, the staff always treats her with such patience and respect. She is thriving in the facility and tells us how much she loves to be there. There are many activities for her to choose from every day. Staff members go out of their way to make sure she is happy and doing something she enjoys! The therapy is outstanding and she loves going for her sessions! We are always contacted any time there are any changes in medications or treatments. If we have any questions or concerns, they are answered or addressed by nursing staff, Director of Nursing, and/ or Administrator very quickly, usually within the same day. She does have a roommate and she is a perfect match for her! She talks about how wonderful the food is. If there is ever something on the menu she does not like there is always an alternate for her to choose from. We are always so pleased that all staff members in the building, regardless of what part they work, seem to know our grandmother's name and stop to talk to her as she passes in the hall. She truly seems to be "at home" at Lindan Park.

A family member of current/past residence writes: My grandmother has been staying at Lindan Park in Richardson, TX for approximately 6-8 weeks. Her room is okay (no roommate), and food is decent. The rehab care is good. However, other than her good rehab sessions, her other medical needs have been very slow in being attended to. She had a stint put in after a heart attack right before being admitted to Lindan Park; however, it took 6 week for my grandmother to be seen by an actual cardiologist for any initial follow-up care after her hospitilaized heart procedure which occured only days before her arrival at Lindan Park. Staff is supposed to put an emergency reponse clip on residents when they are in a wheelchair to notify staff if/when a resident falls out; however, this was not done by staff and my grandmother fell out of her wheelchair recently and remained on the floor for quite sometime until staff finally noticed her on the floor in passing (she sustained a compression fracture in her hip from this event). She is slow to receive her medications, which are never given when family is present. To date our family cannot get a clear account of what medicines are prescribed for and given to my grandmother (even though she has authorized this info to ge given to all family). The concern is also that sometimes my grandmother appears heavily medicated/sedated and lethargic the later in the day we visit, which is clearly in contrast to her spryness, intellect and sharp metal acuity exibited earlier in the day to other visiting family before she is medicated during rounds. The business manager, Karma Harmon, knows first hand that my grandmother verbally authorized to Karma and staff that all family members can/should know my grandmothers medical treatments and course of treatments, but Karma Harmom has refused to assist in this sharing of information and gives several reasons which do not make sense and violate HIPPA, as well as are not consistent with Lindan Park's own written rules/policies. There has been a great concern for quite sometime that my grandmother's medical needs are not being met or tended to on a regular basis. My father met in person with the Director/co-owner Alvina Conte to discuss his concerns but nothing changed. When my father began asking questions of a visiting medical doctor, who listened to my grandmother's chest and shared my father's concerns of possible pneumonia, and dorcot ordered an immediate chest x-ray which did not occur for at minumum of several days (if at all, as we never received any concrete evidence it had occurred). After asking questions regarding my grandmother's medical treatment, or lack of, my father and our family were no longer allowed to visit my grandmother in her room and were then relegated to the lobby to visit her for only 15 minutes a day. This was after my father (my grandmother's only son) had previously been allowed to visit her in her room for great lengths of time and assist with her daily physical therapy. After my family consulted with several attorneys and Senior Source agency to advocate for my grandmother, things at least got somewhat better, but were still not satisfactory or consistent. Before my family was relegated to meeting my grandmother in the lobby, we were all banned from visiting my grandmother at all for a week and on 2 occasions the Richardson Police had to be called to check on the welfare of our grandmother.

Bottomline: I would NOT recommend Lindan Park in Richardson, TX for ANY elderly relative. This has been our family's worst nightmare come true!

My husband resided here for a little over a year until his body gave in to his Alzheimer's disease. He was treated with the utmost respect by the staff. They were very attentive to his needs and were also very patient with his outbursts during the progression of his illness. The atmosphere was very friendly and light and the staff were very knowledgeable and professional. I was contacted immediately if there was a concern or a need. I would definitely recommend this nursing home to anyone who is looking for a place where they can feel safe and confident that their loved one is being cared for and treated with dignity.

My mom was here for rehab. The place was terrible. Rehab was decent but living conditions were bad and response times were very long when she needed help. Couldn't get her out fast enough.

Response: I am sorry that your experience was so unpleasant. I had only good experiences there. I guess as in any nursing home you can critique and find bad things but surely there had to be some good as well.

The staff is rude, uneducated and unmotivated to care for others. Do NOT put your family here.

Response: Unfortunately my mom did not receive good care at this facility. You have to monitor the staff constantly, who f i r the most part do as little as possible. Its very old and run down. Do not put your parang there.
