07/06/2011  -  An OurParents User Writes:

After forcing my mother to have her medication administered by their "nurses" (whom some can't read pill bottle instructions, literally) the "nurse actually hands my mother the bottles of pills and says "here you go". That's administering medication?? Then the head nurse calls me on the 4th of July, concerned that she is having a tough time reaching my mother's doctor with a question. I asked, 'do you know what day it is?' The head nurse couldn't tell me other than "Monday". I then asked why she was trying to reach the doctor on the 4th of July holiday. She said she wanted an updated list of my mom's medications, the same list I gave to them three days earlier. Complete and total incompetence. And it's a shame too. This facility is in a great location and other than the unqualified nursing and care staff, everyone else is excellent. If your loved one requres care by professionals, this is not the place for you.

I came across the previous review just today (11/14/2010) and I honestly can't change a thing. Carefully review your billing, be at the facility daily to make sure they know people are watching. The administration IS awful and spends more time making excuses than correcting the problems. My only hope is no one dies at this facility due to their negligence.

My parent is in their memory care unit, and the administration is awful. They can't fill out paperwork correctly which is a problem if you are claiming LTC benefits or VA benefits. They don't return phone calls. They add charges to your monthly bill -- outings, lunches, miscellaneous -- that they don't explain. And their problem solving ability is non-existent. Skip this facility.

Response: They are correct!!
