My mom was an Alzheimer’s resident at Blue Ridge for 4 years. The staff gave her excellent care. My mom enjoyed the food. Staff even went above and beyond to accommodate my mom’s chocolate fix. Unfortunately, my mom died from an accident there. Wasn’t anyone’s fault. Just a freak accident. My only concern with the accident was wheelchair foot braces need to be down and residents buckled in so they don’t fall out and break their neck, as my mom did. When my mom’s last moments at Fairfax, all the nurses would come in and say how wonderful my mom’s health was in. Beautiful skin, clean - not how they usually see people from assisted care. We made decision not to sue for wrongful death because it was just as it was - freak accident. And the care she received there - just couldn’t go down the sue route. So this should say something about it. This was in 2011 and I hope the care is still there. My only concern towards the end was the cutting of the staff to a minimum. Staff would complain to me about it.

My father stayed here for a year until he passed away in 2007. He loved it here. They ate wholesome food family style, and hosted a huge Thanksgiving pot luck dinner for the families each year. They always invited me to stay and eat with dad, and never charged me. I loved the recliners that looked like home.

Blue Ridge Christian Home is a nice home that actually gives you the feeling of coming home to visit mom. The staff meet me at the door offer me a drink or a meal and even get me a chair to sit with my mom and her friends in the living room. I have visited other facilities when other family members were there, and Blue Ridge and its Staff are remarkable at what they do. I love to go visit mom because she is happy and I know when I leave she is in very capible hands and hands that love her as much as I do. I suggest to anyone looking for a home for there loved one that you go to Blue Ridge and talk with Shawn or Mary and talk with the staff or the other Residents there, you wont be dissapointed in what they do and how they care.

Blue Ridge Christian Home is a wonderful home. The staff is kind, loving and professional. The staff and administrator practice their mission on a daily basis. My parent is there and my experience has been most positive. I have recommended BRCH to friends whose loved ones need 24/7 care. The home is spotless, clean and offers a loving environment. I am confident there is no better place. It is small and my relative has excellent supervision. The food is excellent and there are many appropriate activities for the elderly. I highly recommend Blue Ridge and I have only positive comments about it's administrator, Mr. Wampler.

All I can say is Wonderful!!!!!!!!!

    Response: HI ANN AND MARGARET!

Response: In Virginia 22.67% of LTC residents are on antipsychotic drugs even though they have no diagnosis of schizophrenia, Tourette's, or Huntington's. The senate has been holding hearings on this practice. 40% of dementia patients are on these drugs, even though they do not have a diagnosis which warrants their use. Federal regulators are embarking on a program to reduce their use.

Do not send your loved one here unless you want them drugged and turned into a zombie.

Response: I think everyone should go by and take a tour of this home and judge it for themselves. Respect and honor is what it is all about and that's what this home offers to every resident.
