This community was a perfect fit for my parents. Recently they hired a great RN who overseas the nursing department. Her assessment was on target and they are receiving great care. It gives me a piece of mine that they live at Gayton Terrace.
Theo has been a huge asset to the community . He has been a great resource for me and my family.
I would tour this community if you are looking for community for your loved ones.

GT is in crisis at this time. Not able to deliver on assisted living pkgs. Nursing office/procedures are scary. My parent has been both over- and under-medicated in a week's time. The administrative side of things is a mess - disorganized. New ownership cannot handle the transition. Not enough staff. Unsafe place to be unless you are independent and need nothing. Residents hardly ever take advantage of movie room, exercise room, etc. - just a core group of residents leave their rooms. Activities staff doesn't seem to care. All the $$ seems to go into the appearance of the place. Cost is high. At this time, $475 per month per person to have even just one pill given out once a day. Add that to regular rent, assisted living cost per month (which is not being provided from what I can see with my parent, despite talks with admin. and nursing)& it's quite expensive. It's about appearances, not care. I shudder to think what the rents will go up to if/when they hire the add'l staff that they need to meet the requirements of the Dept. of Social Services. They have recently been designated an assisted living facility & they are having lot of difficulty with that. Again, not enough staff, too many med techs passing out meds, not enough licensed nursing staff.

Response: GT is in a crisis. The leadership is so disorganized and dishovled. Employees are allowed under perform and not deliver on the services and duties they are assigned and they operate with NO accountability. The residents suffer. The place is dirty from top to bottom because Brookdale who runs the community will not invest in hiring the proper help for staffing the cleaning and housekeeping staff. Lazy employees are kept on staff while those who try to make a difference are quickly disposed of. The CNA's are never timely in there response to patients--my mother lived there and I have timed the responses many times. Yes its all about appearances and the bottomline mostly.

This facility is a joke and should not be open and most of the employees need to be fired. If you love your family, don't take them to Gayton Terrace.

Response: I agree 1000%. The place is so dirty and the marketing staff is so sales focused they treat every one like a number---yes the hugs and kisses last just one week then the problems start. Gayton Terrace is the perfect place for degenerates who simply just need to get a paycheck. I would not put my loved one in this place. They have recently been cited by the state Dept of Health for numerous violation and that place has a lot to hide.

This company is about the bottom line. They just want that $$. The kitchen is disgusting, The food that is served has normally been contaminated some how. The cooks hardly ever use gloves to prepare food and if they do they do everything else with the same gloves on. Like mess over in the dirty dish area, eat on the back lines, etc Some times serving utensils and even ready to eat foods are dropped on the floor on accident, but they are picked up and put back in the food or served out to the residents. I would never in a million years put someone I loved in this health hazard. And this is a place that is supposed to be upscale! There are residents here that were judges, lawyers, and doctors. Some of the wait staff even treat the residents poorly. If this stuff goes on in the dining room god only knows how the rest of the place is ran!?

Response: To whomever wrote that review must have been a former employee, and as myself being a employee there a one point, I agree 120% with that review. And the sad part is that the entire company lies to the Residents just to get them in there and than afterwards they are treated poorly along with all the stuff that they are promised just to get their application signed. The employees get treated with no respect from corporate and from higher management. All the smiles and hugs only last about 2 weeks once you sign your life away with Gayton Terrace. I wouldn't even put my pet in that place let alone a friend or family member.

Response: Somebody really needs to hold this place accountable. My in laws both died in this facility. I worry every day about my mother because she is not receiving the care we are paying for. We have viewed the caregivers on video stealing from her room and they are still employed there. Criminal.
