From a different perspective as an employee, I can say first hand that this is the worst healthcare facility to work at. It you are seeking employment at a place that can nurture your growth and make you feel good about yourself at the end of the day, keep looking. Mission Healthcare does not appreciate it's employees, nor do they take the time to properly train them on how to communicate properly, both with each other and with the residents. Most of the nursing staff and cleaning staff speak languages other than English, making the residents and other English speaking employees feel isolated. If you work in healthcare, you know how big of a deal this is for a resident. The physical therapy department and finance department have been a hot mess for years before I ever worked there so check your bill carefully! I know some horror stories from the resident's family members I grew close to over my time working there. The management is very involved in things like wallpaper and micromanaging dress code and late receptionists to truly care about employee moral or the over all health and care of your loved one.

Something to think about: If your employees are not happy in their work place, do not feel that their work is appreciated, how great do you think they will continue to work? How great do you think they will treat your loved one?

Response: I too work for Mission. Unlike the writer of the prior post(who only briefly worked here)I have worked here for 15 years, and I'm not the only one with such longevity. We have a very low turnover rate because we love what we do and who we work with. I have said many times this is the place I would place a loved one who needs such care. We have even had former employees as patients. Doesn't that say a lot?

My father was recently admitted here following a brief hospital stay. He suffers from dimentia and was equipped with some medically necessary devises. The staff never read his condition report for hours after entering. He accidently removed a catheter and it was not replaced. Despite 2 urologists and his primary care physician directing the use of catheters we were told by the mission staff that he didn't need it. We found out later that for 4 days he had been bleeding internally which was evident in between urinations. They did nothing about it for 4 days.
This is the place to send people you don't care about...they should be shut down.

The best place without a doubt you could ever place your elderly parent. There are no negatives. The care is amazing, the staff is as close to perfect as you can get. We have two mothers who have been there several times over the years. One of them is now living there permanently and needs lots of care. From admitting to nursing to physical and occupational therapy, there could be no better place. In addition to the staff the place is immaculate and run like a fine hotel. There are activities, the food is good and there is even a speech therapist who observes the patients while they eat to determine possible issues. We have never seen anything like this and we have had to deal with all of our elderly parents in various places. This is by far the best we have seen.
