Beware of these two. Marcella owns two homes, both are VERY expensive, my Mom was here for 1 month and we had to pay for two months(up front), no compensation. She knows how to work the system for her benefit. TV is on all day. Meals are fast food and facilities are old, dark and out of date. Never again!!

Beware! The Cusmir's are completely unethical! My father lived here for nearly a year and a half.

My father is wheelchair bound and can't speak due to a stroke, he has a great attitude considering these major set-backs and is easy going when it comes to his care.

The Cusmir's are guilty of:
1) Elderly Dumping (they had my father taken to the ER & didn't inform any of us that this had taken place then threw all of his belongings outside in garbage bags. My family had to have a police escort come to this facility to help with the situation. Valley Hospital will not suggest this AFH to any potential patients due to what happened with my father.
2) Breaking their contract (they tried to increase rent by thousands of dollars).
3) Not paying their employees for work completed upon firing!

I would give the facility no stars if it weren't for their caretakers! In fact the only thing Marcella & Sam do right is hire lovely caretakers, but when they are done with them they fire them and then go to the extent of throwing all of the caretakers belongings out onto the lawn and not paying them for work completed. We are saddened for one of the best caretakers that my father had who was treated in this way and Sam did this in front of my father and another resident who were both wheelchair bound and sitting in the living room watching tv (yes the tv is on all day in this facility).

Also, the food is for the most part processed, lots of canned soups, boxed macaroni & cold cereals. Rarely any fresh veggies outside of bagged salads.

Marcella & Samuel Cusimer also own & run: At Lake Meridian Estates

Description of Joy Peace & Love in Kent, WA

Number of Beds : 6

Discover the assisted living, adult day care, independent living, in-home care, memory care, continuing care, hospice and respite services you want and need at Joy Peace Love. Assisted living affords a healthy, secure, and supportive environment for seniors who need help with day-to-day tasks but who still want to retain their self-sufficiency. Why choose an assisted living community? Studies reveal that living near peers and participating in social activities leads to a happier life. With assisted living, you'll find senior-friendly residences and a warm staff. Communities have additional services that include 24-hour supervision and security, emergency response systems, access to licensed nursing care, chef-prepared meals, and assistance with grooming, dressing, and bathing. Housekeeping, laundry, social programs, and local transportation are usually provided, too. When you are autonomous but want the comraderie of your peers, choose indepedent living and enjoy amenities and services geared towards seniors. Serving both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as senior apartments, retirement villages, and communities for 55 and older. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with an abundance of community amenities, services, and programs tailored specifically for seniors. Your personal belongings, such as furniture and favorite mementos, can move to your new home with you. With maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping taken care of, seniors can focus on goals and passions instead of the daily demands of home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. Community services and amenities usually include fitness clubs, dining facilities, swimming pools, golf courses, hiking trails, social events, and more. The staff at Joy Peace Love has a special place in its collective heart for residents and their families who must deal, day by day, with the daily effects of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Alzheimer’s specialists work hand-in-hand with families, loved ones, and the Joy Peace Love staff to ensure that residents receive the comprehensive treatment they need. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a dedicated staff that is skilled in techniques unique to memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private residences with twenty-four-hour support. Three healthy meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment encourage mental stimulation. Grounds typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to enjoy. Behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming are provided as well. Continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) are dedicated to making the phases of the aging process as smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. It achieves this through offering long-term, comprehensive assistance, from independent living to assisted living to skilled nursing care. Some seniors, as they age and begin to need assistance, simply do not wish to leave the place they’ve called home for many years. Sometimes they bought their dream home upon retirement. Sometimes it is the house where they raised their children and watched their families grow up. For them, the walls and floors resonate with memories. A caring, in-home staff understands this and is dedicated to making seniors as comfortable and as satisfied as they can possibly be. These services, available 24 hours a day, every day, are paid for by the individual or through public and private funding sources, such as Medicare and/or Medicaid. Home care consists of various medical and non-medical support services. Home-care services are divided into two types. The first is a skilled service provider, typically a professional nurse or licensed therapist who can manage certain medical concerns or rehabilitation needs. The second, more common, type of in-home care is supplied by an assistant who can help with daily activities, such as meal prep, transportation, and grooming, and who can offer emotional support and companionship. There are medical and non-medical professionals ready to help with a wide range of services. An assisted living community provides help as you need it, with the goal of supplying the services required to stay as autonomous as possible. When seniors are autonomous but want the comraderie of peers, choose indepedent living and enjoy a variety of amenities and services. Memory care gives a higher level of attention, intellectual stimulation, along with comfortable, secure accommodations. Continuing retirement care is dedicated to making the phases of the aging process as smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. It achieves this through offering long-term, comprehensive assistance, from independent living to assisted living to skilled nursing care. In-home care is helpful for seniors when they need it. Care professionals will bring their expertise and experience to your home. This choice is perfect for those who prefer to stay in their homes but who need some help with the daily activities of living. These services, available 24 hours a day, every day, are paid for by the individual or through public and private funding sources, such as Medicare and/or Medicaid. Call today and discover how Joy Peace Love is the perfect fit for seniors requiring assisted living, adult day care, independent living, in-home care, memory care, continuing care, hospice and respite services.
