I have compared multiple facilities on the peninsula and this is definitely one of the better choices. If you are comparing strictly with other Assisted Livings in town, this building has much more to offer. As with any senior living facility there will be hiccups, but from what I have observed, the staff her really are there for the residents and do whatever they can to correct any issues that arise. Something I liked is that there is a full calendar of activities led by staff, but there are also many other opportunities for residents to entertain themselves with gardening (both inside and outside), theater room, library, gym, billiards. There may be more I didn't see. Each time that I have visited, the building has been bustling with activity, not silent and stale. There is also a lot of opportunity for residents to get out of the facility by scheduling rides with transportation provided by the building to restaurants, doctor's appointments, shopping, or whatever errands they need. The competitor's transportation is for facility activities and emergencies, otherwise they rely on public transportation. I would recommend looking at all of your options, from my experience each of the facilities are willing to give you a tour so you can decide what will work best for you and form your own opinions.

Don't let your loved one choose Seaport. The management is all talk and it is unlikely your loved one will ever receive the services paid for. Be sure you check other sites for complaints.

Seaport's Retirement side is fine. There are activities, bus transportation, etc. It is a fairly new, nicely laid out facility. The Assisted Living side is inadequate. The staff is nearly untrained, and staff turnover seems to be 100% per year. The Assisted Living staff to resident ratio is very low. We had to hire outside help to get even basics like reliable bath assistance for my 91 YO mother-in-law.

Supplying assistance with everyday activities, along with health services, nutritious meals, and a range of other conveniences, assisted living allows seniors to thrive. Why choose assisted living? Communities have additional services that include 24-hour supervision and security, emergency response systems, access to licensed nursing care, chef-prepared meals, and assistance with grooming, dressing, and bathing. Laundry, housekeeping, social programs, and local transportation are typically provided as well. When you are autonomous but want to be in the company of your peers, choose indepedent living and enjoy amenities and services geared towards seniors. Intended for both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as senior apartments, retirement villages, and communities for 55 and older. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with an abundance of community amenities, services, and programs tailored specifically for seniors. Your personal belongings, such as furniture and favorite mementos, can move to your new home with you. With maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping taken care of, seniors can focus on goals and passions instead of the daily demands of home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. Community services and amenities usually include fitness clubs, dining facilities, swimming pools, golf courses, hiking trails, social events, and many others. Seaport Landing by Bonaventure helps seniors find the worry-free lifestyle they want. In this community, residents have complete assisted living and independent living services, as well as a hospitable environment. Within assisted living communities, you'll find help as you need it, with the goal of giving the aid required to stay as autonomous as possible.
