We had to have help caring for our parent. We prayed and God lead us to the Rockin Chair. Our precious family member has been living at this facility for 4 months. The owners are of good character and present a Christian atmosphere which is very important to our family. The staff is friendly, helpful, and caring to the residents. The residence is definitely geared for the elderly and functions adequately in all areas. We are very blessed to have found the Rockin Chair and will recommend it to anyone who wants the best possible care for their loved one. clt/cak

I would like to respond to the last writer My mother is in this home and before long so will my dad also be there you should be so ashamed that all you can say about this home is that's it dusty I bet if I came to your house I'd find plenty of dust too. Have you ever been to this home? When you are in these homes and this is for everyone look closely at these little people the wrinkles in their face watch them as they try and fed themselves and their hands shake so bad they can't hit their mouths they stumble as they try and walk they wear pull ups because they can't control themselves any more they may know their families and they may not Now look in the mirror.... YOUR NEXT! scary don't you think? Have you got your home picked out I have and there is plenty more like me that won't mind the dust just as long as I am fed and I don't have sores and someone treats me with respect shame on you that you would try and discourage others not to go to this home or any other home you are such a HYPOCRITE you wouldn't have your so called job if it wasn't for the tax payers are you mad because they didn't hire your friend? Sounds like a good thing on their part her being your friend and all I'll pray for you...........

Response: What do you mean get a real job??? I have never had any public assistance and I have worked everyday since I was 14. I will tell you one thing when you pay for care for your loved one you should expect a sanitary place for them. I would think with as much as care cost they could have a housekeeper. I have worked at other places before moving to WV and our work was inspected and if anything was not up to standard we had to reclean everything. You loved ones can get sick from dust and unsanitary conditions. My Mother is 80 and I take care of her in my home and I would love for you to come by and check how clean my home is.

Response: lady you set in an office looking down on some poor sole that has worked all their lives and now they have lost their jobs they come to you for help and you find them a min. wage job a job you think your self to good to do. You being on this site tells on you if you were trying to help others you wouldn't have time to try and tarnish someone else. Shame on you

You are very wrong. There is no housekeeper because one of my close friends applied there after I told her of the listing at Workforce. She went for an interview and got to look at the rooms and see the CNAs making beds and also they where in the dining room folding laundry but the place was very dusty , of course with NO housekeeper CNAs can't do everything. They told her they did have a housekeeper but she retired, so you must not work there now. She said the CNAs were great with the patients and I have never worked there. I am not a CNA I work at Workforce. I just selected the wrong drop down box.

I disagree with your description of this facility I know for a fact they have a full time housekeeper and they have been there for quit a while the caregiver donot do the laundry and they do not clean the rooms I do know they are the highest paid caregivers in this area I do know the owners and they do fire anyone that does not care for these residents sounds like you are one of them maybe you would be better off at Phillips just remember they have complaints too I am a proud employee

04/16/2011  -  An OurParents User Writes:

On the surface this seems like a wonderful place but The CNA's are so overworked from giving great care to the residents they also have to do all laundry and try to clean the rooms too because there is no housekeeper except when the dust gets real bad they will hire someone for a week or two then fire them. If you are there a sit and listen you will hear the staff talking and cursing and the residents can or could hear them. The food may be good but it is the cheapest food you can buy. They all deserve better! I have never seen an in room call system. As for being fully fenced that is not true some of the residents get out and all of the staff have to go looking for them. If you want the best for your loved one I would be looking at Phillips Care.
