Our father was there for 10 days and in those 10 days he was not cared for properly. He was a higher level of care patient but they did not clean him with soap, take care of his teeth, shave him,cut his nails or complete his cares to our standards. This was told to social worker and said she would talk to staff but no change. We were supposed to have meeting to address but he was sent to hospital prior to meeting. He had to share room and his roommate had been coughing and passed along pneumonia to my dad. Once admitted to hospital, they found bed sores on his toe and also his coccyx - he was supposed to be turned every 2 hours - there is no excuse for bed sores in 10 days and he had come from hospital prior to this, so we know they were not there upon admittance. We did not return after our hospital stay.

my wife got a new knee at froedhert hosp and we needed a rehab facility, they said theyn were full but she could share a room,we got her there the other women had 80%of the room ,my wife had like a day cot sandwiched between two cabinets ,she wasnt supposed to get up unassisted, the next mourning she pressed for assistance to go to bathroom was told to wait about 45 mourn about 2 am she looked across hall into another room and saw two aids with a flashlight going thru a womens dresser drawers,my wife always took to lasik for liquid retention,at the hosp they monitored her intake so gave her one,we both new with one shed start to bloat up,we told nurse she said they would check into it,i said she has restless legs and with diabetes her sheets shoulndt be tucked in ,(those were basically our only request, were from door county, there doctor was also a doc at froedert so i figured her meds no problem,i could get hold of my wifes heart doc by calling froedert in mourning and would always get a return call around 1pm from him oe his nurse practitioner,i went home for 5 days came back she had put on 32 lbs and her whole rt heel was a giant blister,i took her to froedhert ,they had a surgeon take blister of and put membrane over it,care age said they couldnt fig how to weigh her when she was in wheelchair, and couldnt get hold of people at froedhert ,i went home rented a bigger car came back took her to froedhert went to care age told head nurse were leaving she said why ?i said i have to get her out of here before you kill her ,she finally said im so sorry.we went home,i called a nursing home omnudsman who was interested i questioned why they didnt monitor weight ?she went there that night called me in mourning and said she looked at chatrs and the only weight they had was day of arrival, she said to complain i did i went thru all the channels everybody agreed ,then all of a sudden weights appeared on charts majicaly, and the rehab lady (who was a clown also)said she offered my wife a foam boot 3 times and my wife declined it ,my wife had used those foam boots before at hosp and never declined it ,the complaint process went for 5 months ,tel calls ,(that was terrible what happened to your wife, yada yada yada )it boiled down to what the nursing home says has to be right ,they denied it all case close.the women that went first night saw no weights has no authority, home kind of police themselves a big joke,as for the rating sorry thers nothing lower than poor, one afternoon after getting my wife back from a hosp trip they had like ice cream social i come down hall aids are having cones, wifes in wheelchair you had to move aside for the aids ,it was laughable ,but a terrible adventure.

My wife had a hard time selecting a nursing home for her mother and selected Care Age, Brookfield. Her mother is VERY happy there, very happy with the food and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. My wife visits a couple of times a day and has never seen anything that would concern her at all. If concerned over nursing home care I wouldn't hesitate over this one. My mother in law doesn't even care to leave to come our house, although that may change come summer. We are very pleased and have nothing bad to say at all.
